|DNV-GL Type Approval
The Bawat Ballast Water Management System has successfully completed all tests in accordance with the requirements of the specifications contained in Guidelines contained in Resolution MEPC.174 (58) and Det Norske Veritas' Rules for Classification of Ships, DNV Type Approval Program No.771.91.
The system is fully compliant with the IMO Ballast Water performance standards and complies with all of the requirements of the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships' Ballast Water and Sediments.
The Certificate is issued on behalf of the Danish Maritime Authority and Danish Nature Agency.
Bawat is proud to say that the Bawat BWMS is the first in-tank and in-voyage ballast water treatment system to obtain the Type Approval.
|Bureau Veritas Type Approval
Bawat A/S has obtained Bureau Veritas' Type approval. The certificate attests that Bureau Veritas has undertaken all relevant approval procedures for the Ballast Water Management System, and found Bawat A/S to comply with the relevant requirements.
|USCG AMS Approval
Bawat A/S has been granted U.S. Coast Guard Alternate Management System (AMS) acceptance in accordance with the requirements of 33 CFR 151.2026 for an interim period of up to five years. This enables commercial vessels equipped with the Bawat BWMS system to be approved to discharge treated ballast water in U.S. waters.
Bawat plans to obtain full type approval by the U.S. Coast Guard regarding U.S. waters well ahead of the expiration of the interim period.
